Man Killed In Shooting Following Two-Vehicle Crash In Prince George's County, Police Say

Police in Prince George's County are probing a fatal shooting that happened following a reported crash in Morningside early on Saturday morning.

Suitland resident Joseph Holtz, 38, has been identified by investigators as the person killed in a weekend shooting following a two-vehicle crash.

Shortly before 1 a.m. on Oct. 26, officers from the Prince George's County Police Department were called to the area of Suitland Road and Randolph Road to investigate a reported shooting.

Investigators say that the shooting occurred after the crash. 

Holtz was rushed to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries, officials said on Monday afternoon.

Two guns were recovered at the scene of the shooting.

According to the department, "investigators have identified all parties involved in this incident and are in consultation with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office regarding this investigation." 

No charges have been filed as of Monday, Oct. 28.

The fatal incident remains under investigation days later.
